Just a quick refinement

In the shower, it occurs to me that I've always felt that the expression "all men are not in fact created equal" lacked a certain amount of idealism. Really, it's true, since people have a wide range of abilities and natural talents. Even so, I think it would be more accurate to say that while people are not created equal, they become more equal as they live. Not socially, but personally, people come to a more equal footing; nor am I speaking of death - a rather grim form of absolute equality.

Simply that as we live, we gain ability at different rates, but over time these differences become either less important or less pronounced (since everyone will become skilled or an expert in something). There will always be people who fail at Life, but these would fall outside the generalization.

I dunno. I felt better thinking about it this way.
